Modern football has evolved since the late 19th century when Walter Camp at Yale University first pushed the idea of a quarterback receiving the ball from someone at the line of scrimmage. The Supreme Court's ruling on President Biden's student loan forgiveness policy comes after several legal challenges mounted by opponents who argued that such a policy exceeds the executive branch's constitutional authority. The court, in a divided opinion, ultimately held that the President's plan to forgive a substantial portion of student loan debt through executive action violated the separation of powers and bypassed Congress's authority to make decisions regarding federal spending.
