Ric first began his financial services practice in 1990 after spending two years working in the banking and financial services world. He realized that his passion was money, investments, and planning, so he left banking and took a leap of faith. It was then that he envisioned a financial services practice, where advice was paramount to selling a product. Ric quickly transitioned to the “serve first” philosophy with Steinhaus Financial Group.
Ric built his practice where a customized, comprehensive financial plan could be tailored to each clients’ financial lives and continues to do so. In 1999, Ric was named Columbus Regional CEO of Steinhaus, an affiliate of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp. In addition to building his personal financial planning practice, he led and supported a team of 200 financial planners and management personnel who provided estate, business succession and investment strategies to affluent corporate executives, business owners and retirees.
Ric resigned his MD position in 2005 to dedicate 100% of his time toward his practice. Ric’s business specializes in working with retail executives of VS&Co., BBWI, Big Lots; Ascena, which own retailers such as Lane Bryant and Ann Taylor Loft; DSW and Abercrombie & Fitch.
A recognized leader in the Columbus area, Ric has published financial planning articles in Business First, the Columbus Dispatch and is frequently quoted in national publications about his experience in building a financial services practice. In October 2015, Ric and the partners of Bluestone spun off from Steinhaus to create their own independent practice.
Ric received his B.S. in Finance from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University in 1985. In 1993, he received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and in 2016 his Masters in Financial Planning from the College of Financial Planning. Ric is current Chair of the American Heart Association Heart Ball, their premier fund-raising campaign. Ric and his wife, Lori, are members of the Cor Vitae, the Heart Ball as well as the “Go Red for Women” supporting the AHA. For over 25 years, Ric held a board seat with the Buckeye Ranch; a nonprofit that provides hope and healing to children dealing with mental health, emotional, behavioral and substance use issues. He was also former Chairman of the Holding Company of the Buckeye Ranch. Prior to that, Ric held a seat on the Executive Board of the LPGA’s Wendy’s Championship for Children and is a past Charter board member of the Young Professionals (Zookeepers) at the Columbus Zoo. He is also a member of the Legal & Professional Advisory Committee of the Columbus Foundation.
Ric and Lori reside in Plain City. They have two children: Linley, who lives in Philadelphia and Gabe, a Bluestone team member.

Hello there! Here’s my story. I grew up in Canton, Ohio as the 8th child in a string of ten. You’re right, I am Catholic. In this environment you learned discipline, living within your means, save first, spend second, and hand me downs were okay. My father was a majority owner of a window and door company. Early on, my mother worked at Ohio Bell telephone company until the siblings started arriving. She was the best mom ever.
I started my career in 1982 working with Aetna, after I attended a recruiting seminar where I ran into a long-lost cousin and one of my brother’s high school friends. In 1998, I joined Lincoln Financial Advisors to deliver financial planning-based services where the financial plan leads the way for my clients to pursue their goals. When you think about all the parts to be accomplished, many people have difficulty completing them. People hire us to get things done. There is nothing more rewarding than having a client tell me I had a major impact in their ability to pursue and maintain their financial goals.
We specialize in helping contractors and individuals with a high net worth reduce their current taxes, manage their investments, and efficiently transfer their businesses, and wealth to their children and their grandchildren. Our unique planning approach allows us to analyze critical information and eliminate the guesswork so you can focus on your future.
I graduated from Western Governor’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management. I hold a Series 7 & 65 securities licenses through LPL Financial and numerous state licenses for securities, life, and health. I also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and the Certified Business Exit Consultant (CBEC) designations.
I live in Westerville with my wife of many years. We have two daughters, five granddaughters and a recent grandson. I am a lucky, thankful man. My hobbies include golfing, fishing (catching…not waiting 3 hours for a nibble) and I am a die-hard Browns fan. My goal is to go see the Browns at the Superbowl. Hey, it might happen?
Designation & Licenses: ChFC, CLU, CBEC, Series 7, Series 66 through LPL Financial

Hello! I’m Jen Jenkins, a financial advisor at Bluestone Wealth Partners, and I'm on a mission to help women in business—whether they’re business owners, executives, or working moms—achieve financial success. I believe every woman has the potential to build a secure financial future for herself and her family. Through personalized guidance, educational resources, and ongoing support, I help women tackle unique challenges and work towards their long-term financial goals. Together, we’re building a community of financially confident and empowered women who strive for financial freedom and live their best lives.
But enough about work! This is a “Bio” page, after all. I was born and raised in Columbus, which automatically makes me an Ohio State fan. Go Bucks! After earning my BA in Psychology from Ohio University, I dipped my toes into Human Resources, even snagging a second bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management. Life, however, threw me a curveball—a divorce—that pushed me to seek more flexibility and fulfillment in my career. That’s when I discovered my true calling: financial advising.
Fast forward to today, and I'm living in Worthington with my two beautiful daughters, who, much to my disbelief, are both in high school. Where did my babies go? Their after-school activities have evolved over the years, and these days, it’s all about cheer. This year, they’ll both be cheering on Varsity together, and I couldn’t be prouder. Then there's Ophelia (affectionately known as Muffin Top), our golden retriever, who is, without a doubt, the best and cutest dog in the world. My obsession with her is perfectly healthy, I promise.
When I’m not at the high school supporting the girls, you’ll likely find me exploring the Olentangy bike path—walking the dog, running, or riding my bike. I’m an avid runner (when I’m not injured, which, as I get older is less and less frequent) and I dabble in hot yoga and pilates, despite being least flexible person ever. I'm also trying to rekindle my love for tennis. It's been a long time since my high school days! To give back to the community, I recently joined the Junior League of Columbus and started volunteering for Canine Companions. One odd hobby I picked up during the pandemic is paint-by-numbers, which I find incredibly relaxing. Also, as a side-note, trampolines hate me. Feel free to ask about that one!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. If you have any questions or want to chat further, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Licenses: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Series 7 and Series 66 held through LPL Financial, Life
I grew up a military brat born in California. My father was a pilot in the Air Force so we moved around a bit to eventually find roots in Worthington, Ohio. I went to Ohio State University and quite honestly, had no idea what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I started as a business major, like most undecided undergrads, and in time realized I would not find fulfillment just working for a company. Then one day, I got lucky. My friend from school brought me to OSU’s FPA (Financial Planning Association) meeting. The combination of helping people pursue their life’s goals with an emphasis on financial planning would later become my passion. I soon changed my major to Consumer & Family Financial Services and the rest is history.
I predominantly work with construction contractors and high earning young professionals in the Ohio area. My main focus is to help align my clients capital with what they actually want to do in life. Guiding a financial road map for my clients to excel, with all the bumps along the way, is what gets me excited to go to work every day.
In my spare time, I enjoy crushing my opponents in fantasy football (dynasty) & watching the Browns consistently disappoint me. I am a husband to my amazing wife Lee, a father to my 1.5 year old son (Graham), newborn daughter Quinn and dog dad to my golden retriever Penny. I am constantly learning so you will likely find me listening to an audio book with a long list of books to be read.
Feel free to connect with me below!

After graduating from law school in 1983, Don started working and advising business owners when he worked for the “Big Eight” accounting firm, Price Waterhouse. He later joined a law firm in Columbus, Ohio that specialized in working with closely held business owners.
Don was instrumental in helping clients protect and plan for their families, the future of their business interests and the transition of the business and the family wealth. Much of the success of the planning was a result of collaborating with clients’ other advisors, often the financial planner and CPA. This included developing and implementing transition strategies and working with the IRS to obtain private letter rulings.
Don inherited his father’s entrepreneurial spirit, and left the practice of law to acquire his own business. He purchased several insurance agencies and later merged those with a larger firm, while continuing to do comprehensive financial planning for business owners.
He joined Lincoln Financial Advisors in 2000, and continues to help successful business owners plan for their future, their family and their legacy. With 35 years of experience and an excellent team, he helps his clients create a financial roadmap distinctive to their vision, by listening and learning what is important to them and who they care about.
Don has been active in numerous civic, philanthropic and professional organizations over his professional career. He has attended many national conferences, including The Institute for Preparing Heirs and the Notre Dame Tax and Estate Planning Institute, all of which discuss ideas to help the successful business owner protect, grow and transition family wealth.
Don and his wife, Sheila, live in Westerville. They have a daughter, Annie, and a son, David. When not working, you may find Don traveling with his family or driving the back roads of Ohio with Sheila.
A 1980 graduate of The Ohio State University, Don received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
