Hello there!  Here’s my story.  I grew up in Canton Ohio as the 8th child in a string of ten.  You’re right, I am Catholic.  In this environment you learned discipline, living within your means, save first, spend second and hand me downs were okay.  My father was a majority owner of a window and door company.  Early on, my mother worked at Ohio Bell telephone company until the siblings started arriving.  She was the best mom ever.

I started my career in 1982 working for Aetna after I attended a recruiting seminar where I ran into a long-lost cousin and one of my brother’s high school friends.  In 1998 I joined Lincoln Financial Advisors to deliver financial planning-based services where the financial plan leads the way to pursue their goals.  When you think about all the parts to be accomplished, many people have difficulty completing them.  People hire us to get things done.  There is nothing more rewarding than having a client tell me I was a major impact in their ability to pursue and maintain their financial goals. My practice has focused on affluent families and business owners.

We specialize in helping high net worth individuals, business owners, and executives reduce their current taxes, manage their investments and efficiently transfer their assets to their children and grandchildren.  Our unique planning approach allows us to analyze critical information and eliminate the guesswork so you can focus on your future.

I graduated from Western Governor’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management.  I hold a Series 7 & 65 securities licenses through LPL Financial and numerous state licenses for securities, life, and health.  I also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and the Certified Business Exit Consultant (CBEC) designations.

I live in Westerville with my wife of many years.  We have two daughters, five granddaughters and a recent grandson.  I am a lucky, thankful man.  My hobbies include golfing, fishing (catching….. not waiting 3 hours for a nibble) and I am a die-hard Browns fan.  My goal is to go see the Browns at the Super Bowl.  Hey, it might happen?

I am a planner and work with people through their triumphs, failures and missed opportunities in this crazy cycle people call life. Where I come in, is making sure those failures and missed opportunities don’t happen in your financial life and hopefully.. add to your triumphs.

I grew up a military brat born in California. My father was a pilot in the Air Force so we moved around a bit to eventually find roots in Worthington, Ohio. I went to The Ohio State University and quite honestly, had no idea what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I started as a business major, like most undecided undergrads, and in time realized I would not find fulfillment just working for a company. Then one day, I got lucky. My friend from school brought me to OSU’s FPA (Financial Planning Association) meeting. The combination of helping people pursue their life’s goals with an emphasis on financial planning would later become my passion. I soon changed my major to Consumer & Family Financial Services with a specialization in Financial Planning.

After graduating, I worked for a financial planning firm for 2 years. During that time, I obtained my life & health license as well as the Series 7 license through LPL Financial. In 2016, I joined Andy Michel’s team at Bluestone Wealth Partners. Some of my main responsibilities include building financial plans, discretionary investment management and helping create our services in a digital format. I am presently studying for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

In my spare time, I enjoy crushing my opponents in fantasy football & raising my pup (Penny) with my fiancé Lee. (Learned how to shake in July) I am constantly learning so you will likely find me listening to an audio book with a long list of books to be read or writing in our blog.

Hello! Welcome to my page. This is the part where you get to learn a little about me. Unfortunately, my life is not exciting and I’m a talker, so I apologize in advance. I was born and raised in Columbus. I graduated from Ohio University with a BA in Psychology. Go Bobcats! Don’t worry, I’m still a huge Ohio State fan. Go Buckeyes! After graduation, I worked in Human Resources for a bit, including a stint with a Fortune 500 company where I obtained a second Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management. Coming from an HR background, I adopted a passion for effective and innovative business processes, consummate client care, and customer service excellence, which I dutifully carried over to financial planning.

I joined the Bluestone Wealth Partners team in 2015. I hold a FINRA Series 7 registration through LPL Financial and State of Ohio Life, Health, and Accident Insurance licenses. I am also a certified instructor for Leadership & Customer Service Training and Development and I have a yellow belt with Lean Six Sigma. Currently, I am working on obtaining a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. After that, who knows! I am always looking to self-improve and learn new skills. Knowledge is power!

On a personal note, I reside in Worthington with my two daughters. This fall, one is starting high school and the other is starting middle school. I am accepting prayers and positive thoughts (or wine) during this difficult time. Their after-school activities have varied over the years, but I’m currently a cheer mom, soccer mom, and dance mom. Which is a long way of saying, “I’m not home after work”.

Some random facts about me - In the summer, I spend my free time at Worthington Hills Country Club either at the pool or on the tennis court. Restaurant week is my favorite Columbus holiday because it gives me an excuse to eat dinner in the Short North all week. I used to think my ideal vacation was anywhere with sun and sand, but after spending time out west (particularly Alaska) I think I might be more of a mountain-lover kind of girl. I dabble in hot yoga (even though I am the least flexible person in the world), and I am an avid runner (when I’m not injured, which, as I get older is less and less frequent). When I’m not driving the girls around Columbus, you can typically find me taking advantage of the Olentangy bike path, training for various races around town. Also, as a side-note, trampolines hate me. Feel free to ask about that one!
